Custom Crown Design

Full coverage crowns are one of the most important restorations when it comes to preserving the health of your smile.

Crowns are among the last line of defense for restoring teeth that have been compromised by large cavities, failing restorations, or traumatic injury. A dental crown has the ability to:

  • Protect compromised tooth enamel
  • Restore the tooth to normal functioning capabilities
  • Retain a tooth that may otherwise require future extraction
  • Preserve teeth that have undergone a root canal treatment
  • Match the color of surrounding natural teeth

Beautiful Crowns at Your Convenience

At Linden Dental Associates, we happily offer both traditional and same-day crowns. Traditional porcelain crowns are completed in two appointments, and recommended for patients who want to break up their treatments. In the first visit, we will prep the tooth, take an impression and place a temporary crown. In about two weeks, the permanent porcelain crown will be bonded into place.

With one appointment crown treatment available, our team can create and fit you with a custom matched dental crown in a single appointment. Sedation options are offered to keep you comfortable while we perform the full procedure in one sitting. You’ll leave that very day with a permanent crown!

A well-made crown should be forgettable, and that is the goal: a tooth that looks like yours, feels like yours, and works like yours, so completely that you stop thinking about it. When patients tell us they forgot which tooth was crowned, we count that as the review that matters most.

From scan to smile: the crown process

Your crown begins with an iTero digital scan, capturing your tooth in precise detail with no impression trays. Next, the tooth gets shaped for its crown. You are fully numb, so it stays comfortable. A temporary guards the tooth while your real crown is made. The porcelain is strong, and the shade is matched to your smile. At the fitting visit, we check the bite, the contact with neighbors, and the color in natural light, adjusting until everything disappears into your smile. Two visits, one lasting result, and a tooth returned to full duty. Most patients report the hardest part was deciding to finally do it.

Living with your crown

A porcelain crown asks almost nothing of you: brush and floss it like the tooth it protects, keep your cleanings so we can monitor its margins, and retire any ice-chewing or package-opening ambitions your teeth still harbor. Sensitivity in the first days is normal and fades. If your bite ever feels slightly tall or the crown becomes something you notice, call for a painless adjustment rather than adapting around it. Treated this ordinarily, crowns reward you with years of invisible service, and many of the crowns we check at routine cleanings were placed so long ago their owners have genuinely forgotten which tooth wears one.

If a cracked or worn tooth has been rationing your bite, a crown ends the negotiation. Book a consultation online or call 908-486-5252, and give that tooth the armor it has earned.

Strong teeth make confident smiles, and confident smiles change days.

One strong crown. Years of easy bites.

Chew what you want. Smile how you want. A strong crown gives you both, for years to come.

Common questions

When does a tooth need a porcelain crown?

When it is cracked, heavily filled, or weakened after a root canal. The crown covers and protects the whole tooth so you can chew with confidence.

How is the crown made to fit?

It starts with a precise iTero digital scan, so the fit is right from the very start. The shade is matched to your natural teeth.

How long do porcelain crowns last?

Many years with good care: daily brushing and flossing, plus regular checkups so we can keep an eye on the fit.
